Adult Education

Sustainably Sadie
Adult Education

With baby due the month before Christmas, I am anxious to be all ready for the holiday long before December.  Despite squirreling away twice as much as I was able to last year, I rely heavily on hand-crafted gifts for the loved ones in our life.  Pinterest.com provides hundreds of ideas, but in the next few weeks, there are a couple of classes that are going to help me gift through the holidays.

I’ve mentioned before the Jewelry Camp workshop—bead and wire wrapping-- held at the River’s Edge Gallery October 19 and 20.  Contact Therese Hutchinson of the Main Street Market with questions and to sign up for this fun, informative six hour class:  1 to 4 pm Friday afternoon and 9 am to Noon on Saturday.

Another class I am ultra-excited about is the Mixed Media Adult Ed Art Class that Kelly Downing is teaching this fall.  The first class will be October 16, starting at 5:30 pm held in the Lunchroom at the Twin Bridges School.  The course will last 5 weeks, held on Tuesdays, with a class size limit of 12.  The nominal $20 class fee will result in 5 exciting projects.  The hand-crafted art can be gifted to Mom, Grandma, best friends, memories to share with Dad and Granddad.  The personalized canvases will mean more to those loved ones in your life than a Made in China gift purchased from an end-cap of a box store aisle.

There are other Adult Ed classes in our community that provide opportunities to create unique gifts.  A Google search revealed the website for the Ennis Continuing Education website, http://www.ennis-ece.org, and information can be found by searching sheridanwired.com for “adult education classes”.  Contact the Twin Bridges School, 684-5613, for information on the Mixed Media class as well as other Adult Education classes offer in Twin Bridges.  Giving the gift of an Adult Ed Class is another imaginative way to gift to loved ones this holiday season.

Twin Bits

Tom Agnetti will be teaching Art Class for Kids at the River’s Edge Gallery Wednesdays this fall; after school until 5:30 pm.  This is an awesome opportunity for our children.  Class costs $5 each or a month’s worth lessons for $16!

The GRVCCA Annual Ag Banquet, honoring our agriculture community and heritage, is Sat. Oct 27 at the Twin Bridges Airport.  Besides an amazing meal, events consist of a presentation by Professor Dennis Cash of MSU whose research interests include Forage Crop Production and Harvest Strategies for Pasture/ Hay Crops and music by Trent Brooks (“a solid mixture of Southern Rock and Outlaw Country”) of Great Falls.  Chris Noon is the contact person for this event, rkymtnsly@3rivers.net.  The GRVCCA is still in need of Table Sponsors for this event.
Chris Noon is also the contact person for the Man Tracking class in Yellowstone, October 20th.   Ruby Valley SAR is on Facebook…*Friend* our local Search And Rescue page to stay informed of trainings.
